Ruth graduated from Deshler High School May 17, 1953, and continued on to Wichita Business College, where she graduated the secretarial course on January 25, 1954. She returned to Nebraska where she met Leonard John Seibolt. They were joined in marriage on January 26, 1958 at Peace Lutheran Church in Deshler, NE. And unto this union John and Becky were adopted. Following their marriage, they resided in Fairbury the remainder of their lives. Ruth worked for a few different companies including Sherwin Williams, the ACS office, and The Creamery , and eventually going on to work at JC Penny, where she retired from in 1998.
Ruth enjoyed bowling, reading, sewing, knitting, cross-stitch, cross words, sudoko, playing cards, and loved spending time with family and friends. She also collected plates and thimbles, having a thimble from almost every trip she had taken. But most, she enjoyed spending her time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, making sure she didn't miss a ball game, program, or activity they were participating in. Before the decline in her health and mobility, she was very active in the church. She particpated in church council, as well as Piecemakers. She spent many hours making blankets, and preparing care packages to send to the less fortunate and homeless. Towards the end of Ruth's life, she began living at Gardenside, where she got to see many old friends, as well as make new friends. During her time there, she was cared for by people who loved her as if she were their family. To say she will be missed is an understatement, she has been the glue holding our family together, and has touched the lives of every person who's met her.
