Ryan R. Byrd

Ryan Ray Byrd was born on October 3,1983 to Ron and Nancy Byrd. He went to his heavenly home on January 9, 2022. Ryan attended Fairbury High School. After graduation, he attended SECC at Milford. He graduated with a degree in construction. Ryan worked at Building Tech in Beatrice, NE for a time. He later worked for Commonwealth Electric Co. in Lincoln. He returned to college in 2017 at SECC in Beatrice. He was often on the Dean’s list. He graduated in 2019 with an Associate of Arts degree. He then attended Peru State College where he was also on the Deans list. He was one semester away from graduating with a degree in psychology.

Ryan became a father on April 18, 2011 to Alexander Byrd. Alex was his pride and joy. He loved doing things with Alex and for Alex. They spent a lot of time going on walks to the river, going on bike rides, and playing together. They loved going to fairs and to arcades together. Ryan was Alex’s super hero.

Ryan enjoyed camping and golfing. He had the talent of being able to build things and fix almost anything. He was a great help to his mom. If she needed something done, he made sure to do it.

Ryan was proceeded in death by his father, Ron Byrd, and grandparents, Laurence and Gladys Byrd. He is survived by his son, Alex Byrd, and mother, Nancy Byrd, both of Fairbury, his brother, Adrian Byrd and wife Deeann, of Waverly, Nebraska, his significant other, Amber Jones of Fairbury, his aunt Janice Bever of Silver City, New Mexico, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Ryan will be so missed by all that knew and loved him.

Services will be Tuesday, January 18. 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at Gerdes-Meyer Chapel.  Memorials will go to the Family’s Choice.  Gerdes-Meyer Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.
