Shannon M. Criner

Shannon Marie Criner, 46 of Fairbury, passed away April 17, 2015 at Gardenside Care Center in Fairbury. Shannon was born January 18, 1969 in Fairbury, NE to Kent and Mary (Linenberger) Criner.

She attended school in the Fairbury School System until she graduated from Fairbury High School in 1987. She married Jeff Bradley in 1988. To them one son was born. They divorced 15 years later. She then married Christopher Anderson in 2009. They divorced 1 ½ years later.

Shannon worked for the Swingster Company. She left the company because of health issues. Later she worked part-time for Blue River Area Agency on Aging, Dollar General, Schroeder’s Family Foods, and Attitudes Apparel. She enjoyed meeting and visiting with the public. She always had a great love for animals, especially cats. She raised Himalayan kittens in her home for several years, and raised “Show Quality” cats and collie pups for a while. Her cats were bought by people from across the mid-west and various other states.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents Ivan and Wilma Criner of Endicott, NE, Al and Josephine Linenberger of Morrowville, KS, uncles William Criner, Loren James Criner, cousins Michael Criner, Alex Linenberger, Eddie Linenberger, and Everett Linenberger.

She is survived by her son Zachery Bradley, her parents Kent (Buzz) and Mary Criner, sister Kimberly Criner, brother Scott Criner and wife Christine, nieces Carlee Criner of Beatrice, and Chelsee Criner of Fairbury, aunts and uncles, several cousins and special friends.

Services were held at Gerdes-Meyer Funeral Home April 22, 2015. Cremation has taken place and interment was in the Fairbury Cemetery on May 5, 2015.
