Sharon K. Green

June 19, 1942 — September 9, 2020

Fairbury

Sharon Kay Green was born on June 19, 1942 in Polk, Nebraska, to Harold Gifford Green and Laura Marie (Johnson) Green.  Sharon passed away on September 9 th , 2020, at her home in Fairbury, Nebraska, where she spent 40 years of her life surrounded by those who loved and cared for her deeply.

Sharon was a lover of the great outdoors.  No matter if it was traveling, walking, relaxing in the sun, Sharon loved the warm weather and what nature had to offer.  Sharon loved sitting back and listening to her surroundings, especially birds, children playing, friends reading, and the pleasant sounds of summer.  Sharon was always her own person and if she set her mind to it, she was going to do it no matter what others thought.  Sharon was always young at heart and never sweated the small stuff.  She had a vibrant personality and when she smiled, the world around her became more radiant.  Her smiles would cure the worst of day for those around her.  Even in her passing, she remained calm and happy.

Sharon had a sweet tooth and a love for chocolate.  She was never one to pass up on her favorite chocolate cake made by Marj.  She loved listening to old time music, loved when children would visit with their parents and play outside, and a woman of few words but could express what she wanted with a look to whoever she was communicating with.  Sharon’s smile, vibrant personality, and her love for others will be missed by her Family at Region V.

Interment will be held privately at the Fairbury Cemetery on Tuesday, September 15 th , 2020 at 1:30 pm.  She is survived by her long time roommates:  Vicki Peterson and Phyllis Schierkolk and her entire Region V Family.
