Steven Bly Wilson, the son of Walter Bly Wilson and Frances Distel Wilson, was born in Fairbury, Nebraska May 19, 1941 and died July 6, 2014 at his home. He was 73 years of age. His education began at St. Michael’s Catholic School.
Steven graduated from Fairbury High School in 1959, and later attended Fairbury Junior College. He served in the USAF from August 1959 until August 1963. Assignments included a tour of duty in the Phillippine Islands.
He married and was later divorced from Mary Jackson Hughes.
Steven was an employee of the U. S. Postal Service from shortly after completing his military commitment until his retirement. He could usually be seen working at the counter in the Fairbury Post Office. A lifelong Catholic, he volunteered as an usher at St. Michael’s Church. He was a member of American Legion Post 24. Steven enjoyed music, hobbies and visiting with people.
He is survived by his son Brian Wilson of Lincoln, Nebraska, sister Roslyn Wilson of Maryland, special friend Betty Johnson, and cousins and numerous friends.
Interment was in the Fairbury Cemetery.
