Velma Hammer

Velma A. Hammer 102 of Fairbury, NE. passed away at the Heritage Care Center in Fairbury. She was born June 26, 1912 at Gladstone, NE. to Henry & Anna (Lottman) Elgert.

Survivors are Son: Michael Hammer & Wife Susan of Reynolds, Daughter: Carolyn Sieber & Husband Ernest of Reynolds, 4 Grandchildren, 7 Great Grandchildren, Sisters: Lois Templin of Reynolds, & Marjorie Terrill of Fairbury.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday July 5, 2014 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Fairbury, with Father John Birkel officiating. There will be a Vigil on Thursday at 7:00 p.m., July 3rd at Gerdes-Meyer Funeral Home in Fairbury & the family will greet friends following the vigil. Burial at the Fairbury Cemetery-Fairbury, NE. Memorials to St. Michael’s Catholic Church or Heritage Care Center. Gerdes-Meyer Funeral Home in Fairbury is in charge of arrangements.
