Velora B. Adam

Velora Adam of Lanham Nebraska passed away on October 27, 2020 at the age of 86 years, and 10 months.  She had been a resident at the Hanover hospital long term care facility for the past 3 years.

Velora was born on Christmas Eve, 1933 to Herbert and Bertha Klaus (Scheele).  She was baptized (12-31-1933), confirmed (3-30-1947), and attended elementary school at Bethlehem Lutheran Church rural Bremen KS.  She graduated from Odell High School with the class of 1951, and was the class valedictorian.  She taught elementary school for one year at the one room school house 3 miles east of Odell.

On June 15, 1952 she married Ervin Adam of rural Odell.  They started their family and lived on the Adam family farm southwest of Odell before moving to Lanham in 1960.  Velora was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Lanham KS.

She is survived by her four children, Roger Adam (Beth), Bev Loges, Jim Adam, and Shirley Wiechman (Dave), brotheHor Don Klaus (Olivia), sister-in-law Sandy Colgrove, seven grandchildren, Alyssa, Paul, Troy, Erin, Kirk, Jaylyn, and Jared, their spouses and 14 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Ervin Adam, parents Herbert and Bertha Klaus, sister Marilyn,  brother Alan,  and son-in-law Gordon Loges.

Graveside services will be held Friday, October 30, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. St. John Lutheran Cemetery – Lanham, KS.  Viewing will be at Vance-Gerdes Funeral Home in Odell on Thursday from 3:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. There will also be viewing from 10:30 – 11:00 at St. John’s Cemetery before the service.  Vance-Gerdes Funeral Home – Odell is in charge of arrangements.
