Waldemar "Walt" Iwert of Fairbury, Nebraska formerly of Mahaska, Kansas died on Thursday, January 18, 2007 at the Heritage Care Center in Fairbury at the age of 78. He was born on May 27, 1928 at Haddam, Kansas the son of Carl and Mathilda Dux Iwert.
Survivors include sons and wives; Duane and Susan Iwert of Emporia, Kansas, David and Peggy Iwert of Mahaska, Kansas, William and Marlene Iwert of Garden City, Kansas, Lou and Peggy Iwert of Olathe, Kansas, daughters and husbands, Betty and Mike White of Garden City, Kansas, Beverly and Jeff Talkington of Fairbury, Nebraska, sisters Rosa Ackman of Beatrice and Irma Phifer of Topeka, Kansas, 11 grandchildren, 1 great-grandson, nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Services will be on Tuesday, January 23, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. at the Presbyterian Church in Mahaska, Kansas. Burial will be in the Mahaska Cemetery.
