Wanda Talbot

Wanda Talbot (85) of Endicott, NE passed away Sunday, July 25, 2021 at Sumner Place in Lincoln, NE.  She was born 4/28/1936 in Endicott, NE to Ivan & Wilma Criner. She attended Endicott public schools where she graduated in 1953. She was a lifelong member of the Endicott United Methodist Church. During that time she was deeply involved in several committees in the church and headed up several activities. One of her favorites was making countless batches of homemade candies along with Sharee McAtee for the Sweet Tooth Booth, held on Lords Acre Day.  Her junior year of high school she met the love of her life, Jerry Talbot, at Gifford's Cafe in Endicott.They later married in January of 1956.  In the late 50's when they briefly moved to Texas, she had the opportunity of a lifetime when she got to meet Elvis and get his autograph. To this marriage 3 children were born. Doug Talbot, Sheryl (Ron) Rhoden, & Joni Talbot all of Endicott.   Wanda spent a large part of her married years being a babysitter for numerous children that lived in Endicott.  She was at her happiest being a homemaker and taking care of children, including all of her grandkids.  She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers Jim Criner, Kent (Buzz) Criner, and Bill Criner. Infant sister Martha. Mother-in-law Matilda Talbot and Father-in-law Ivan Talbot.  Numerous sisters and brothers in law.   Survivors include her husband Jerry and her 3 children. Grandchildren Sarah (Pete) McGoldrick of Arizona, Brandi (Hans) Keim of Iowa, Brittany (Brent) Stanton of Fairbury, Richard (Justise) Rhoden of Aurora, NE, and Angela Rhoden of Kansas. Great Grandchildren Donavan & Kyle McGoldrick, Caysen, Connor & Caleb Stanton, Eden & Adelyn Keim.  Many sisters in law, brothers in law, nieces, nephews and very close cousins.

Services will be held Monday, August 2 at 10:30 am at the Endicott Methodist Church in Endicott, NE. Memorials will go to the Family's Choice. Family will be greeting friends Sunday from 2-4 pm at Gerdes-Meyer Funeral Home in Fairbury, NE.
