Warren "Buddy" Schmidt

Warren (Buddy) Schmidt, 65 of Fairbury, formerly of Western passed away Thursday, April 26, 2012 at the Veterans Medical Center in Omaha, NE. He was born July 9, 1946 at Western, NE to Carl and Ruth Matzke Schmidt. He attended school at Western and graduated from Western High School in 1964. He was a Vietnam War Army Veteran. Warren is survived by a son Steven Fair and wife Landra of Lawrence, KS, two grandchildren, brothers Duane Schmidt and wife Vicki of Western, NE, Marion Schmidt and wife Carol of Lincoln, NE, sisters, Carleen Novak and husband Fred of Lincoln, NE and Kathryn Dlouhy and husband Duane of Branson, MO. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 1, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at the Gerdes-Meyer Chapel in Fairbury, NE, with Pastor Francis Schmidt officiating. Burial will be in the Plainview Cemetery in Western, NE. Memorials are suggested to Cedarwood Assisted Living or the Western Rescue Unit.
