William *Bill* A. Muller , 85, of Fairbury passed away at home on November 1, 2015. He was born June 25, 1930 in rural Fairbury, Nebraska to John and Agnes Scheer Muller.
Bill attended school at District 29 and graduated from Fairbury High in 1947. Bill married Lois Klotz on January 17, 1955 at St. Michael's Catholic Church and to this union four children were born. Bill was a lifetime member of St. Michael's Catholic Church in Fairbury. They recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with family and friends.
Bill was a farmer for several years near Gladstone, then he gained employment at the Fairbury Farmers Union creamery as truck route driver and later as a field agent. In 1968, he began work for the Fairbury Co-op elevator where he was employed as a grain and feed manager. Later he worked at a local dairy for several years as a herd manager before returning to the Fairbury Co-op elevator as a chemical specialist.
Bill played many years on local town baseball teams before becoming a coach for many youth and pony league teams, as well as taking teams to tournaments. He also coached the Gladstone Gazelles softball team for a few years.
Bill enjoyed the outdoors, taking his family camping, fishing and hunting many years. He spent many long hours doing wood-working, building many items for family and friends over the years. He was a man of many talents and had a great sense of humor.
Survivors include wife Lois M. (Klotz) Muller, children Joyce (Phillip) Ambrose of Jansen, Keith (Lori L) Muller of Wilber, Joan (Lawrence) Warnke of Fairbury and Scott (Lori A) Muller of Lincoln, sister Elizabeth (Pat) L'Ecuyer of Morrowville, Kansas, 13 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild, sisters-in-law Mary Ann Muller of Lincoln, Janet Klotz of Aurora, CO., many nieces, nephews, other relatives and a multitude of friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Marie Muller, sister Anna Margaret Steele and husband Charles Steele, brother Bernard Muller, brother-in-law Glen Klotz, and brother-in-law Kenneth Genschorck.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 am Thursday November 5, 2015 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Fairbury. Rosary will be Wednesday November 4th at 7:00 pm at Gerdes-Meyer Funeral Home. Burial at Evergreen Cemetery in Beatrice.
