Wilma S. Endorf

Wilma S. Endorf, daughter of Henry and Mary (Knoche) Jordening was born in Fairbury on July 21, 1919.
She was baptized in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit on August 3, 1919 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Daykin by the Rev. F. W. Schulze.
Wilma confessed her baptismal faith in the rite of Confirmation on April 30, 1933 at Immanuel Lutheran Church of Daykin, being instructed by the Rev. A. C. Gilker. Her confirmation verse was Second Corinthians 5:15. She was admitted to the altar to receive the medicine of immortality, Christ’s life-giving body and blood.
Wilma was joined together in holy matrimony to Otto Endorf on December 16, 1945, at Immanuel Lutheran Church of Daykin by the Rev. Victor Jordening. God also blessed this union with four children, Ruth, Charles, Alvin, and Janet.


On July 15, 2009, at the age of 89 years, Wilma fell asleep in Jesus at Cedarwood Assisted Living in Fairbury.

She is survived by her sons, Charles and wife Kay of Fairbury, Alvin and wife Cathy of Daykin; daughter Janet Olson and husband Greg of Lincoln; grandchildren Tammy Howey of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Rachael Fischer of Concordia, Kansas, Nicole Zalesky of Wilber, Rachel Wentz of Fairbury, Burnie Endorf of Plattsmouth, John and Jenna Olson of Lincoln; great-grandchildren Clayton Brandt, Nicolette Green, Kyle Green, Bianca Fischer, Brittany Fischer, Brittyan Wentz, Cody Zalesky, Brock Endorf, Logan Wentz, and Connor Endorf; son-in-law Jerry Gaston of Fairbury; and brother-in-law Keith Endorf and wife Betty of Kansas City, Kansas.

Wilma is predeceased by her husband, Otto; daughter, Ruth; grandson Clifford Endorf, brothers Otto, Arthur, Leland, Victor, and Henry; and sister Alma.


Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 18, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. at the Immanuel Lutheran Church of rural Daykin, Nebraska with Pastor Paul Beyer officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
