Joseph Peck

Funeral Director / Embalmer/Pre-Need Consultant

Joey was born and raised in North Platte, and has served in the funeral industry since 2012, after experiencing firsthand the comfort and care his own family received following the loss of his uncle the year prior. Wanting to provide that same support to others led him into funeral service, where he has become known for his compassion, personability, and knack for staying calm even when chaos is trying its best. In addition to his work at the funeral home, Joey also serves as an EMT, which means he is very comfortable thinking on his feet and figuring things out in situations that don’t always go according to plan. Joey started with Gerdes-Meyer at the beginning of March 2026.

A small-town guy at heart, Joey believes families should feel supported like neighbors and friends, not just clients. Around the funeral home, coworkers would likely describe him as “organized chaos” — meaning there may be five things happening at once, but somehow he already has a plan for all of them. He enjoys keeping things light when appropriate and believes a little laughter can go a long way during difficult moments. Outside of work, Joey enjoys hockey, baseball, playing drums, camping and spending time with his wife Allison and their two daughters, Raegan and Ryleigh, who keep him just as busy as the funeral home does!
